  • The Sound of Music lives, muppets nonwithstanding.

Another great episode. Julie Andrews starts off with the muppet version of "The Lonely Gothard". Gonzo playing the bagpipes to "A Little Night Music" with the beaver at the bottom of the pole Gonzo is on was a "light" touch, along with Rolfe the Dog playing "Moonlight Sonata" (rising moon and all :)), mixed in is another jug band number and Dr. Benson Honeydew and his hair-raising tonic. Very touching number with Julie and Kermit "When You Were Just a Tadpole".

The finale with Julie and the monsters was cute. All of this around a cow (a real cow) who somehow sneaks onto the set. The cow, as it turns out, belongs to Julie but the Flying Zucchini Brothers get to it first and fire it across the state at the end.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Kermit: It wasn't spooky like this when Julie Andrews did the show!
In Season three's Alice Cooper episode, Kermit mentions Julie Andrew's appearance, one of the first times an episode is mentioned later.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Sam the Eagle: Greetings. As an American Eagle, I feel it is my duty to say a few words about the glories of industry and technology. There are those among us (looks around) who would silence our factories, shut down our mills, and grind our highways to a halt. Yea, verily, today the very fiber of our industrialization is under attack from a small, subversive group of "nandy-pandy" conservationists. These WEIRDOS would stop the march of progress for the sake of a few insignificant animals. I have here a list! A list of the animals these so-called "conservationists" would have us protect. Just listen to this! The "Mountain Lion." Ha! The "Alligator." Ha! The "Coyote!" The "Timber Wolf!" Ha! The "American Bald Eagle--" (looks at list) The American Bald Eagle?? Th-this list is now inoperative. (walks away)

    • Waldorf: Hooray! Bravo! I loved the goat!
Statler: He would, the old goat.

    • Waldorf: He should quit while he's ahead.
Statler: Gonzo should quit while he's alive.
