The Murder Room

Show Summary

British drama based on the novel by P.D. James which aired on PBS' "Mystery" on August 20 and 27, 2006. The DuPayne museum is a rambling old building out in the English countryside, devoted to the period between the two world wars. It is most famous for its "murder room" containing exhibits about famous crimes. Old Mr DuPayne is dead and his three children are at odds about whether or not to continue the museum. Then Dr DuPayne, who held the casting vote, is found burned to death in his Jaguar sports car on Guy Fawkes Night when the sky is full of fireworks. Because of sensitive political connections, a very senior policeman, Commander Adam Dalgliesh of Scotland Yard, is put in charge of this upper-class investigation.
