Any plans for an official DVD release?

It was quite a decent show!

A lot of companys would love to release this cartoon on DVD, but nobody has got the copyright. Cities of Gold was a brilliant series.

Who has the copyright? This deserves a DVD release. It was one of my favourite 80s TV series.

I suppose the producers and all have got the copyright, though why they don't release it on DVD really does confuse me.

Not only would adults (us the first timers) get to enjoy watching it again, but I know the kids/teenagers of today will also enjoy it.

I think they should get a move on and release this. Loads of series from the 80s have already been released, we have He-Man, She-Ra, Ulysses, Dungeons and Dragons, and that's only to name a few. To be able to add this series to my collection of 80s nostalgia would be a dream come true.

Um, IIRC, this show *has* been released on DVD. Unfortunately, never in english. I also seem to remember that the original masters were lost, so the quality on the DVDs that are out there suffer a bit in the quality department. I still wouldn't think twice about buying the box set, if it were availible, and in english tho.

You can get the whole lot on bit torrent.

Someone has spent the time putting the sound from the video over the picture from the DVD.

I have it, documentaries and all!

An English DVD release is expected in February 2008 as the copyright issues have been resolved. See http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Mysterious-Cities-Gold-DVD-Rights-Acquired/8176.

Additionally, a new movie version is to be produced. See http://movie-plus.com/projects/movie/gold.html.

For those of us in the US, the DVDs have finally seen the light of day here also. They were officially released stateside a few weeks ago. Definitely go out and buy the DVDs if you are a fan of the show. Hopefully if we show support for this DVD we will see others from the same time period get released also.

The DVD release is out, but I can't find any big box store that sells it. I guess I'll have to hit up Amazon.
