The series features accomplished actors performing scenes from well-known plays. Select excerpts from Anne of Green Gables, My Fair Lady, Johnny Belinda, and the Devil's Discipline are among the performances included in the series. Actors established in some of Canada's most prestigious theater groups, including the New Brunswick Players, the Neptune Theater, the Stratford and Shaw Festivals, and the Charlottetown Festival, take on the roles in these performances. Lorraine Thomson hosts. She is joined by a psychologist or sociologist plus four guest panelists in each episode, who provide commentary on mental health in relation to what is being portrayed in the famous plays.
