    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • In the hallway when Niles is dusting paintings on the wall, Grandma Eloise points to a spot that he had missed. However, the camera changes angles and she is shown pointing at the opposite wall from where he was dusting.

      • This isn't so much a goof as an editing error. The joke at the end of the last scene is that Fran, knowing CC is in the store, turns on the PA system in order for Miss Babcock to hear Max announce he loves Fran, and CC lets out a huge "Nooooo!" When this episode has been repeated, both in syndication and in on Lifetime, the scream is almost completely edited out when the show cuts to a commercial, thereby ruining the punchline.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Niles: (Maxwell kicks him) Ow! What was that for?
Maxwell: Get you back for kicking me.
Niles: But I didn't kick you.
Maxwell: Bet you wish you did now!

      • Niles: You told her you loved her? (Maxwell nods) And you took it back? (Maxwell nods) That's the thing! Oh, I could just kick you in the seat of the pants!
        Maxwell: What was that?
Niles: I need to press the pleat out of your pants, sir.

      • Maggie: Dad, whatever you did, you better hope she forgives you!
Maxwell: I didn't do anything to her!
Niles: Bet you wish you did now!

      • Fran: Ma, I met this man at Danny's funeral.
        Sylvia: Fabulous! He's Jewish?
        Fran: Yeah, and a doctor.
        Sylvia: Oh!
        Fran: And he's gay.
Sylvia: So you seeing him again?
Fran: Ma! How desperate do you think I am! (pauses) Friday. We're gonna see Show Boat.

      • Fran: (after she dropped her sandwich in the coffin) My watch is caught on his zipper. Cover for me!
        (a woman walks up)
Val: (to the approaching woman) Her watch is caught on his zipper.
Fran: (woman walks away) You know, you are the Rain Man without the math skills!

      • Eloise: C.C., my dear. You always look so beautiful. I don't understand, are you single by choice?
        Niles: Yes, but not hers.

    • NOTES (1)

      • Guest Todd Graff is the writer and producer of Fran Drescher's movie The Beautician and the Beast (a movie that carries an awful lot of resemblance to the show).

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • The title of this episode is a play on words of Del Shores' play (1987) "Daddy's Dyin' (Who's Got the Will?)". It was made into a movie in 1990.
