    • TRIVIA (1)

      • In this episode, Fran reminds Yetta that her grandfather got carried away by the Cossacks, but in "Yetta's Letters," Yetta says she didn't even meet Fran's grandfather until she emigrated to the US.

    • QUOTES (12)

      • Maggie: You went through my room? Have you ever heard of privacy? How would you like it if I went through your stuff?
Fran: Don't bother, he locks everything.

      • Maxwell: In any event, Margaret still isn't home.
Fran: Well, you know, it was a picnic, these things have to go at their own flow. You have to eat, and then my mother always says you have to wait at least an hour before you do strenuous physical activity...
        (death stare from Maxwell)
        Fran: (quickly) ...like Frisbee!

      • (Everyone is upset that Yetta gave Maggie the advice of 'Go for it' pertaining to being with her boyfriend. However, Fran & Niles have just overheard her and Grace have an exchange of those words)
Fran: 'Go for it'? I thought you told that to Maggie!
        Yetta: That's not Maggie?
        Fran: No; that's Grace.
        Yetta: Now I'm confused.
Fran: (frustrated) Grace is the little one, Schmooey's the boy, and the tall one is Maggie.
        Yetta: Hot Pants?
        Fran: Yeah!
Yetta: Tell her to go for it? What am I, senile?!?! Your husband would throw me outta the house!

      • Fran: That's what you call a fight? 'I hate you, who cares'? In my house, a fight isn't over till the fat lady grabs the ginsu and says, "Here, cut my heart out."
Niles: We don't say cross words in my family. We just die very early from colon disorders.

      • Fran: (To Yetta) What are you thinking?! This is the Sheffield's house! No one ever has sex here!

      • Maxwell: Please Miss Fine, I'm just not in the mood.
Fran: Gee, no man has ever said that to me before. Although, I'm sure Lisa Marie is getting an earful of it.

      • (Maxwell and Fran catch Yetta and Saul in bed together)
        Fran: Oh my God! Yetta!
Yetta: What a coincidence, Saul said the same thing not 10 minutes ago.

      • Brighton: You know, Yetta turns out to be pretty cool. She gave me a hundred bucks for my bar mitzvah. Of course, she also thinks my name is Schmuey.

      • C.C.: Maxwell, have I ever told you how much I love working out of the house? I feel I belong here. And the children are really warming up to me.
        (Phone rings, C.C. answers)
C.C.: Hello! No, there's no Maggie here, you have the wrong number.

      • Yetta: (commenting on Brighton and Grace) These kids. They got nothing from you!
Sylvia: Mom, these aren't Fran's children. Fran doesn't have any children. She's not married. SHE'S ALL ALONE!!!
Fran: Louder, Ma. I don't think they heard you IN URUGUAY!!!
Sylvia: Meanwhile, why doesn't anyone ever eat these fruits?
        Fran: BECAUSE THEY'RE WAX!!!
        Yetta: Even the grapes?

      • C.C.: There is nothing you can say to ruin this glorious feeling that I have.
        Niles: You wanna bet?
        (Short pause)
Niles: Grandma Yetta, aged 80, living in a home, got a heap 'o good loving last night... And you?
        C.C.: I HATE MY LIFE!!!

      • Maxwell: Well, Miss Fine, it's seems I've underestimated your booby.
Fran: That's Bubbe. Nobody's ever underestimated MY boobies.

    • NOTES (2)

      • The ending shows Fran, Yetta and Sylvia watching tv, saying how they love that "Mike Myers coffee talk thing".
This is a sketch on Saturday Night Live, where Madonna and Roseanne guest starred.
Sylvia is dressed very similar to Madonna's character and Yetta is a bit similar to Roseanne's character.

      • The actor that appeared briefly portraying Maggie's boyfriend is Barry Watson. He was not credited for his less-than-10-seconds appearance with no lines.

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • Fran: Me? The Pips couldn't back you up!

This is a reference to Gladys Knight and the Pips, a soul/R&B musical group best known for their hits, "Midnight Train to Georgia" and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine".

      • Maxwell: Well, you know Miss Fine... sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

This is an allusion to the famous jingle the Hershey company used to advertise it's Almond Joy and Mounds chocolate bars.
