Donald O'Connor, who played Fred, was a dancer, most famous for being in Singing in the Rain
Fred: This is my favorite time of day. I love to come here and watch the bartenders cut the fruit.
Fran: I can't let Fred go through with this!
Maxwell: You have to! My house has turned into the roach motel, where the Fines check in but they don't check out!
Fran: I hope he knows he doesn't have forever because she's not gonna wait around like some schlub since she can't even spit in this town without hitting some eligible classy guy.
Maxwell: Good bloody luck to her catching one because men seldom date women who say the word "schlub" and rarely marry those who spit.
Brighton: Fran, I cannot share a bathroom with your aunt anymore. I brushed my teeth with some chick product. I don't even wanna speculate what that was.
Gracie: Oh, what are you complaining about? There's, like, a toe nail from Jurassic Park in my bathroom.
Maggie: And look at this! Your aunt ate the entire box of chocolates that my boyfriend gave me.
Fran: Oh, don't worry, kids. I'll take care of everything.
(While she talks, her front teeth are covered in chocolate)
(Before Freida's wedding begins)
Sylvia: This is beautiful. Why is it families only get together at weddings and funerals?
Nettie: You know, you wore that dress to her last wedding.
Sylvia: I'm saving the new one for your shiva, Nettie.
Frieda: I'm gonna go upstairs and try on my old wedding gown. C'mon, kids, come help zip me up.
Brighton: I'll get the pliers.
C.C.: In my day, two people got to know each other first.
Niles: In your day, there only were two people.
Freida's full name, including her maiden and married names before she marries Fred, is Freida Fine Rubensky Mannarino Chung-Dow Bitterman.
Interesting story: Fran says her aunt Freida once dated Steve before he paired up with Eydie. Both Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme have appeared on the show, and Steve Lawrence would later appear as Fran's father Morty in the 6th season.
Fred: Let's face it, Fran, I'll never be known for my dancing!
This is a nice in-joke, referencing the fact that the actor playing Fred, Donald O'Connor is actually quite an accomplished dancer, most famously as a star of the classing "Singing in the Rain".
