(Fran is teaching Brighton a lesson about messing with love after meeting his friend)
Fran: Guess who's picking you up from school tomorrow? My mother!
Brighton: (nonchalantly) So?
Fran: Straight from jazzercise, in her thong leotard. And, you know, she's not the kind of woman to wait in the car. She'll want to come in and meet all your little friends.
Brighton: (nervously) So?
Fran: Maybe she'll even do her flash dance! You know, she's a maniac!
Niles: No one can eat a full five-course meal in under 10 minutes.
Fran: (laughs) You obviously have never broken the Yom Kippur fast at my mother's house.
C.C.: (To Niles) Listen, Flavio...I wanna be alone with Maxwell tonight. What's it gonna cost me to make you disappear?
Niles: Try fifty bucks.
C.C.: Done!
Niles: (Standing in the same place) No, didn't work, I'm still here.
The music that was played during the scene that Fran was dating (the entire scene was played in fast-forward) is the Sabre Dance by composer Aram Khachaturian from the ballet Gayaneh. This is also the first time that the Sabre Dance is played during a scene in The Nanny. It will be played again during a scene in the episode Maggie's Boyfriend in season 6.
Maxwell mentions the talking pig film. This is a reference to the movie Babe. This 1995 film has a speaking pig as its main character.
The title of this episode spoofs the classic soap opera and movie Love is a Many Splendored Thing.
