    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Fran says her star sign is Libra (September 23 - October 23), but in "A Plot for Nanny" they celebrated her birthday in January. Meaning she would be a Capricorn (December 22 - January 19).

    • QUOTES (9)

      • Fran: I was 17 once too. I snuck out all the time. Of course, I didn't have a boyfriend. I just wanted to eat bacon.

      • Maggie: Why is it okay for you to go out with Mike but I can't go out with John?
Fran: Because Mike is not my daughter!
        Maggie: And neither am I!
Fran: Well you can go ahead and cancel, cause I'm dead!

      • Maggie: What is my dad's problem with me dating an older guy?
Fran: Well, look at Anna Nicole Smith. She marries a man sixty years older than her, he dies and all she's left with is his fortune.
        Maggie: So?
        Fran: So sometimes they live.

      • Maxwell: When I was twenty-five, all I could think of is sex, women, and how to combine them.
Fran: My luck, I don't meet him till he's half dead and can't digest corn.

      • Niles: Tea, sir? (Maxwell doesn't hear him) Tea, sir? (Maxwell still doesn't hear him, Niles switches to his other side) How's it going, you lucky little brat born into money?
Maxwell: My right side is fine, Niles.

      • Maxwell: Who told you to call the doctor?
        Niles: Ms. Fine.
Maxwell: Well, excuse me, but when did she become master of the house?
        Niles: Three years ago, September.

      • C.C.: Oh, sister, you've got it goin' on! (Pause) Sorry, I was watching something on Fox before I came here.

      • C.C.: Uh, I just could not get out of bed this morning.
Niles: Ooh, someone leave a big rock on your coffin again?

      • C.C.: The world was a much different place when I was younger.
Niles: Yes, they thought it was flat.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • Maxwell refers to Fran as Mrs. Robinson in reference to her dating a younger man. This is a reference to the 1967 movie The Graduate in which recent college graduate Benjamin Braddock is trapped into an affair with Mrs. Robinson, who happens to be the wife of his father's business partner.

      • Fran recites the theme song from the 1963 movie Flipper while pretending to tell Maxwell about Maggie breaking up with her boyfriend into his ear, which is temporarily hearing impaired.
