  • Extremly funny first-part of season finale.

After 5 years of waiting, Fran and Maxwell are finally getting married. And as well as other viewers, I couldn't wait for this to finally happen. I mean, I was alredy tired of waiting, just like Fran did, but while waiting, I'm glad that a good humor was always there. Anyway, to not get sidetracked, I absolutely loved this episode.

The episode combined humor and drama in he most perfect way. While Maxwell was getting ready for the wedding psychically, talking to a ghost, his ex-wife Sara, Fran was lost on the freeway, and the most humor came from those scenes, with Sylvia and Val driving Fran crazy. I loved this and the upcoming, second part of this episode. It is a really good conclusion to 5 years of this show!moreless

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Fran: Jocelyn and Lester are getting a divorce.
Maxwell: What's that to do with us?
Fran: Their marriage didn't work because they're from two different worlds just like us. I mean you're the sophisticated classy Jocelyn, and I'm Lester, the poor schlub who works for you.
Maxwell: Oh, come on darling, you never really work.

    • Maxwell: Oh, Niles. I just hope I can live up to Fran's expectations. You know, I haven't been with a woman in quite some time.
Niles: Well, double quite some time, add two, and welcome to my world, pal.

    • Fran: Ma, did you eat my edible underwears?
      Sylvia: Maybe.
Fran: Ma, we were going to ration my undies?
Sylvia: I was nervous! You know I always eat when I'm nervous!
      Fran: Nervous, happy, sad, swimming!

    • Val: All right, Fran, this is starting to get really scary. Remember that movie we saw where those people were starving so they started eating things they wouldn't normally eat?
Fran: You mean the tape of my bat mitzvah?
Val: No! I mean the movie where they started eating each other.
Fran: (Pointing behind her at Sylvia) Oh, well fortunately we've got an all-you-can-eat buffet pulling up the rear.

    • Maxwell: (Referring to Fran) Oh, I think you'd really like her, Sara.
Sara: I do, Max. Why do you think I sent her to you?
Maxwell: You sent her to me? (Sara laughs) And you heard her speak?
Sara: I thought she had a cold.

    • Sylvia: (Holds up small pink and black corset) Oh, wouldn't this look adorable on me?
Fran: Ma, I'm getting a little scared just seeing it next to you.

    • Maxwell: Where is she - where's Mother?
Jocelyn: (about Maxwell and Fran's wedding) Oh, she declined the invitation. Seems she despises your fiancée.
Maxwell: What? That's ridiculous. I talked to her the other day. She said she adores Fran!
      Jocelyn: Abhors, darling.

    • Sylvia: Let's go. Gotta get out now.
Fran: Ma, we still have two minutes left.
Sylvia: Trust me, there's only one man who can satisfy a woman in two minutes. Colonel Sanders.

    • Brighton: So Dad, last day as a free man. No more wild nights, no more wild women. So, uh, basically same old same old.
Maxwell: Like father like son eh?
      Brighton: Ha. (whines) Yeah.

Version A begins with the scene where Fran leaves to go to her mother's house, then the intro and then it cuts to the scene where Jocelyn arrives.

Version B begins when Jocelyn arrives, and now the scene where Fran leaves to go to her mother is used in part two of this episode.

Version A ends with Fran on the phone with the policeman while Version B ends with Maxwell arriving to rescue them.

Note that in Version A, the ending scene where Sylvia is eating Fran's regular underwear is missing.

    • Other than in clips, Lauren Lane does not appear in this episode.

    • For this episode Twiggy doesn't reprise her role as Jocelyn Sheffield. This was due to at the time of filming, Twiggy was on a break from work. Though strangely, the character of Jocelyn is somewhat more caustic than the last time we saw her.
