Michael was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1964.His first taste of audience adulation came at the early age of three, when he read aloud from a Playboy joke book at a neighborhood cocktail party.

He began his stage work two years later in kindergarten where he portrayed Big Bird in Christmas On Sesame Street. The costume, constructed by his parents, was built in such a manner that Michael had to use a microphone to be heard throughout the auditorium. This powerful position was a major turning point.

He continued studying theatre throughout his school years, even performing in such musicals as Bye Bye Birdie and the lesser-known Dracula, Baby!, but it was during the year after graduating high school that he truly discovered the theatre. In 1983 Michael joined the White Rock Players Club in a local town and began doing three or four plays a year for the next ten years. Some of those plays included Charley's Aunt, Present Laughter, and the lead in Larry Shue's comedy The Foreigner (a role he would long be remembered for and that he would resurrect in 1997). In fact he won two Best Supporting Actor awards (1995 for Harvey and 1996 for Barefoot in the Park)

Throughout this same time, Roberds began a sketch comedy troupe with several friends called Almost Midnight. They created hours of hilarious skits featuring their memorable original characters like Blue Collar Bob and Radcliffe Peon: Womanizing Space Wrestler. The troupe still exists today and performs sporadically, which is how they perform best.

In the mid 1980's, Michael began doing extra work in locally filmed movies and television shows and soon found this to be quite lucrative. When he finally stopped last year, he estimated that he had appeared in the background of some 500 different projects!

While all this was going on, his agent began submitting him for commercials and small acting roles. They trickled in, but solidified the fact that his dream was within reach. Over the next twelve years Michael slowly climbed the acting ladder from one-line performances to guest-star roles in episodic TV shows and Movies of the Week. All of this culminating in the spring of 1998 when he won the role of Uncle Fester in The New Addams Family and he was finally working full-time doing what he was born to do: "make faces at a camera."

Since that show wrapped in 1999, he has been busy appearing in several feature films alongside such actors as Dennis Hopper, James Spader and Harry Hamlin.moreless

Brody stands 5' 2" tall and his sister Bobbie Smith is a country music singer. Back in 1998 his mom and sister Bobbi sat waiting for an appointment. Brody started acting up somewhat, bugging his sister, essentially making like any other eight - year - old boy. At that moment, someone involved in the casting for a new Addams Family TV series to be shot here happened by, glanced over at Brody and stopped dead in her tracks. Here was her Pugsley. After a quick audition, and having never acted in his life before, Brody Smith got the role of Pugsley Addams.

Brendan Fehr was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He and his two sisters were raised by his mother, a case manager at the Stony Mountain Correctional Insitute. While in Vancouver for a wedding in 1997, he dropped by Look Talent Management to inquire about quick-cash modelling assignments. Manager Jim Sheasgreen suggested he try TV acting instead. But a week later, he was up for a nine-line guest role on the high-school-at-sea series Breaker High. Only days away from starting the University of Manitoba (he planned to be a teacher), he heeded his mother's counsel that if he wanted to try acting, he should give it the full effort.moreless
  • John Astin

    Grampapa Addams

    8.1
John Astin was born to a father who had a knack for numbers (his father was the Director of the National Bureau of Standards). Astin thought he would follow in Allen Astin's footsteps. He majored in mathmatics at Washington and Jefferson College. When he transferred to John Hopkins, he was still a math major. Then, he appeared in a school production and he was hooked on acting. He switched his major to acting and graduated in 1952 with a B.A. in drama. After graduation, John attended the University of Minnesota. He completed some coursework towards his graduate degree before dropping out. With only $100 in his pocket, John traveled to New York. There, he worked as a janitor in several theaters until he earned an off Broadway role. He found some success in Broadway productions (Threepenny Opera, Major Barbara and Tall Story). John began working steadily (on stage and in film); although, none of the parts were huge. Eventually, he landed a part on the sit-com I'm Dickens, He's Fenster. After that role came John's stand out role as Gomez Addams on The Addams Family. Although the show only lasted 2 seasons, it has been seen around the world through re-runs. John has had numerous recurring roles on TV. He became known as perennial guest star, appearing on many popular sit-coms throughout his career. He has also been active in film--mostly playing small character roles. In 1969, he was nominated for an Oscar for a short film he wrote and directed. John has been married 3 times. He had 3 sons with his first wife, Suzanne Hahn (m. 1956, d. 1972). He had 2 sons (both arguably successful actors) with actress Patty Duke(m. Aug 5, 1972, d. 1985). In 1989, he married his 3rd wife, Valerie Ann Sandobal.moreless
