After the cancellation of The Bill Cosby Show, Bill Cosby tried his hands at a variety show. Debuting on September 11, 1972, The New Bill Cosby Show began it's run on CBS. Throughout the season, many famous guests appeared on the show including Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Groucho Marx, and the Jackson 5. The show also featured monolgues by Bill Cosby about his life. However, being one of several variety shows at the time, The New Bill Cosby Show was cancelled after its first season.
