-When Fred tosses a cannonball to the pirate onboard the pirate ship, the background of the scene changes to the studio lot, making it look like the ball is breaking through concrete (instead of a wooden floor) into the water.
-Velma doesn't seem to swim too well in this episode after she dives into the water to escape the pirate, even though she was scuba diving in the original Scooby Doo, Where Are You series.
-When the pirate casts off the boat Fred and Daphne use to save Velma, a closeup of Fred has his eyebrows missing.
-When Shaggy (blinded by Scooby's paws covering his face) asks Scooby which way to turn in the Alaskan scenery, he tells him to turn left. But Shaggy turns right, crashes through the background, and the two wind up in a snare trap. Either Shag's brain is badly scrambled or he simply has a very poor sense of direction.
(After they get locked in jail)
Shaggy: When I said close the door, I meant that one, not the cell door!
Shaggy: Where are you?
Fred: In the bank.
Shaggy: (Chuckles) Great, you can bail us out, we're in jail.
The alternate title for this episode is Scooby-Doo Meets Sandy Duncan.
Daphne wears a jade green dress in most of this episode.
(When the gang get spooked by a fierce brown bear)
Shaggy: Uh oh! And it's not Yogi Bear.
Reference to Hanna-Barbera superstar Yogi Bear, who originally appeared on The Huckleberry Hound Show before starring in his own spinoff series, and headlined several H-B shows and specials from the 1970s and '80s.
