Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • Goof: The scene where Dick tells the gang they can be co-owners of his carnival is badly animated, particularly the closeup on Daphne, as well as the group shot where Scooby's nose is brown, the same color as his fur.

    • Goof: When Fred yanks the mysterious hand coming out of the trap door, Daphne speaks when she says "It's Mr. Van Dyke!" However, she's speaking with Velma's voice.

    • Goof: Dick grabs the ice-cream cart and begins wheeling it to the right. In the next shot, he's heading to the left. When he arrives near Fred, Daphne, and Velma, their positions change several times from one shot to the next.

    • Goof: In one shot, the Caterpillar ride is zig-zagging up and down the rail in the air. In the next shot, Dick is running alongside the ride, which is now sliding on the rail flat on the ground.

    • In the close-ups while Daphne is in a dodge-em car, she appears to have a mole on her chin.

    • While on the three-seated bicycle, Fred, Velma and Daphne repeatedly pass a hamburger stand. Daphne stops to get a picture taken in a photo booth which was nowhere in sight a moment before.

    • After hoisting Dick out of the Tunnel of Love, Freddy appears to be standing in midair above the trapdoor near everyone else. In the following shot, Scooby and Shaggy are climbing out of the trapdoor and no one else is in sight.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Fred: Hey kids, look! There's a carnival up ahead.
      Daphne: Wow! I love carnivals.
Velma: Naturally. Studies show that artifical stimuli provided by carnivals relieve tensions of every day exigencies.
      Shaggy: Huh?!?
Daphne: She means it'll help us forget about some of the haunted houses we've been to.
Shaggy: Well, studies show I'm for that. Let's go!

    • (Shaggy and Scooby above the carnival hanging onto the last balloon which is rapidly losing air):
      Velma: They're falling!
Daphne: What are we gonna do?
Dick: Leave it to me! (Grabs a baseball glove and runs) I gotcha! I gotcha!
      Velma: What are you doing?
Dick: Don't worry! I was on my high school baseball team.
Fred: But you can't catch them with a catcher's mitt!
Dick: You're right! I played shortstop!

    • (Daphne stopping at the photo booth):
Velma: C'mon Daphne. We have to catch the ghost for Mr. Van Dyke!
Daphne: Mr. Van Dyke might want a picture to remember this day.
Velma: Oh, I'm sure he'll remember this day without a picture of you.
Daphne: Well it'll only take a moment.
Velma: Women! (Gasp) What am I saying? I'm one of them!
