So its been about two days since the series premiere, and I just wanted to gauge what everyone thinks about in regards to the series. Most of the critic reviews I have read haven't been that great but personally I loved the first episode. It brought back memories to the wit and charm of the first three seasons of The West Wing. So far given the first episode I think this show is definitely on the right track, and I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming episodes. What does everyone else think?

Not bad even though it wasn't my genre. I do like the breaking news part. I can see why people love it. Thanks to http://www.tv.com/news/watch-the-pilot-of-hbos-the-newsroom-without-paying-for-it-video-28959/ for the tip of the full episode online.

So far, it's great. The way it annoys grammatically challenged Fox "News" viewers on the Internet is just an added bonus.

It's good... but the bias has started to really sneak into the show since the first episode... and for a show about not letting bias overrule the news, it's getting a bit annoying that they are letting a clear bias start to colour that "message".

I expected it though so I am more or less enjoying the characters and ignoring the times it delves into propaganda like every real life news source.

Ah, another brainwashed Liberal heard from!! Now, if you'd care to offer SPECIFIC examples of where FoxNews - consistently the highest rated and viewed cable news outlet in the nation - has failed to offer truly 'fair and balanced' news coverage, then perhaps someone might take you seriously. But as with the majority of Liberals, you take 'drive by' shots at FoxNews without a shred of proof to back up your claims and then sit back smug and complacent in your ignorance and continue to believe the 'Anointed One' is something other than what he has shown himself to be, a dedicated socialist who is intent on taking this nation down the road of European style Democratic Socialism.

High ratings and good journalism are NOT directly related. In fact, good journalism often draws lower ratings because the majority of those who watch the news want to be entertained, not educated. Fox "News" gets high ratings because its viewers like watching bags of hot air, such as Bill O'Reilly, shout over people they disagree with, rather than paying attention to annoying things like facts. There are many specific examples of Fox News being biased and lazy in its sorry excuse for reporting.

What's funny for me about you people who say the news has a "liberal bias" is that you're flat out wrong. News organizations frequently withhold or punish important stories because they might not be well-received by advertisers, much to the dismay of good journalists.

People like you love to call journalists "liberal." In fact, what you are objecting to is simply reality. When reality conflicts with what Republicans want (and I say"Republicans," not "conservatives," because I don't consider today's Republicans to be truly conservative), they call it a "liberal bias." Case in point: When journalists who were unsatisfied with the unsupported and unproven claims of the Bush Administration asked members of the administration why we were going to war with Iraq, they were accused of asking biased questions.

Journalists (at real news organizations) tend to be very well-informed and knowledgeable people. They make informed decisions and have informed opinions. That is not a liberal bias, it is honest observation of reality.

Yourclaim that Obama is a socialist is laughable as well, but that's another discussion.

Have to say I love it! I have watched it on Sky here in Ireland since the first episode. I watched the 4th episode last night...absolutely loved it. It's got charm, wit and speed! Fast moving from the start, it holds your attention (not for the news stories per se) but the pure entertainment of the characters. I can not wait for the next episode

Glad you like it. I think it's awesome, too, and the very serious conflict between news organizations and the corporations that own them is one of the main driving forces of the show, which I love. The news stories would probably be more interesting for you if you were American.

Could you please provide a link where it's been proven that Obamas b.c. is a fake? You rallied on about proof in your reply to another poster so walk the walk my friend. Also you saw the episode where Beck and Limbough blatently lied about the cost of Obamas trip abroad. The one where they say it cost 200 million a day to fund. That wasn't a lie?

You really think it cost $200 Million a day? Seriously?
Guess you forgot about Bush Jnr's little vist to Iraq, he didn't make it to the country just to a nearby aircraft carrier, that little trip cost tens of billions of dollars, making Obama's trip look really cheap by comparison.
