        The finalists have their first presentation in front of the camera. The recipe for Giada's Chicken Florentine was divided into 9 parts, and each finalist given a part. The finalists were told to demonstrate their part of the recipe in one minute, in front of the camera.

        Each finalist must design a dish appropriate for the cover the July issue, which focused on grilling. Dishes must be served and presented to the judges and a panel from the magazine.
