  • Another great episode.

I thought last week's episode was a solid 10. I was wrong, this week's was even better. So maybe, I was write about last week and should give this week's an 11.

What I like about the show is the way, the way so many aspects of life in African are highlighted within the cases the detectives handle. And the wonderful sense of humor. Grace and BK on the stakeout has me lol. And when JLB's assistants take him out to party. They are so crazy!

I found the cases quite interesting, and the resolutions in keeping with the moral fibre of the series.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the relationship with JLB is going....but the poor man is sooo in love.

    Love it! Love it!moreless
  • the most perfect episode ever!!

i must say the previous four episodes have been perfect and light hearted, nut this episode really excells in it's entertainment value and gives audiences real corking material to view.

here Mma Makutsi gets her first job at being an assistant detective, and everything spirals out of contral for all the wrong reasons.

it is here we are given a roller coaster of a ride wih the most greatest direction a comedy could ever have.

the two mysteries are very well thought out and plod along nicely and take off and makes this episode very 4 dimensional to witness.

overall this was the greatest episode i have seen on the show.

i need to see it again, so very funny:)

    cannot wait until next week.moreless

BK: Me too. Bad hair leads to depression, sometimes to violence.

    • JLB Matekoni: (talking about Mma Ramotswe) Before I met her, I was resigned to loneliness. Now, I cannot be happy without her.

    • (after Mma Makutsi let BK redo her hair)
Mma Ramotswe: You know, sometimes the most potent weapon in our armoury is our inconspicuousness.
      Mma Makutsi: Inconspicuousness?
      Mma Ramotswe: Eh, Mma.
Mma Makutsi: It's not the first word that comes into my mind when I look at you.

    • Mma Ramotswe: You will, perhaps, start with small matters... and work up.
Mma Makutsi: I would not want to run before I could walk.

    • Mma Ramotswe: (to Rra Badule) There is no shame in asking for help, Rra.
Mma Makutsi: It is the strong ones who ask. The weak are too ashamed.

    • Mr. Patel: A childless woman must take the word of one who knows better.

    • (on their way to a stakeout)
BK: Doughnuts and coffee, like real detectives. (Mma Makutsi reaches inside the paper bag) Or at least bush tea and mopani worms.

    • Mma Ramotswe: Rra Matekoni, just because a case has awkward aspects, it's not always a reason to steer clear of it.

    • Mma Ramotswe: It is unethical for a detective to lie to a client.

    • Mma Ramotswe: The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency is not a court of law. It is a forum for moral arbitration.

    • Mma Ramotswe: It would be cruel to take away all hope at such a difficult time in a man's life.

  • NOTES (2)

    • BK: Wooo! Eh-eh! She will think she's being followed by Robert Mugabe.

Robert Gabriel Mugabe came to power as Zimbabwe's head of government in 1980. He was the Prime Minister from 1980 to 1987 and the nation's president since 1987.

    • Mr. Patel: A car like mine with sat nav. The world will be my oyster.

The line "the world is my oyster" originated from the Act II, Scene II verse in Shakespeare's play The Merry Wives of Windsor which reads "Why, then the world's mine oyster".
