    Does anyone who loves The OC also watch the new 90210.The show is amazing and although no show will ever ever go near The OC the show has the same sence of humor and beautiful sunkissed scenary.

    Yes. And I would never compare the 2 on any level except that its a teen show set in California (alot of them are) and the fact that they copied the Ryan storyline with Dixon. The humor, the characters, the storylines, the actors, the family relations (i.e. the Cohens vs the Wilsons) cant be compared because its just so much better. I think BH90210, One Tree Hill and maybe even Gossip Girl is better than 90210 but not as good as The OC as far as teen shows go.

    NO WAY!Lol sorry to disagree but BH 90210 and Gossip Girl aren't better than 90210!Just in my opinion and I wasn't comparing them I was just trying to see what teen show The OC fans now watch to try and fill the void.I think the new Gossip girl spinoff will be the most similar to The OC!

    I think so...The storylines arent as original as the other 2, the actors surely arent better, the characters' chemistry isnt better, I could go on and on. I feel like 90210 just copied the same sort of formula/character archetypes that made the original 90210 famous (Kelly-->Naomi, Brenda-->Annie, Dixon-->Brandon, etc) where as Gossip Girl has Blair, Jenny, Chuck, Serena which I think are more original characters for a teen show. Alot of other people on the 90210 thread think so too. Theres a few threads pertaining to this topic and its very rare to find someone put 90210 within their top 3 even of teen shows.

    Yeah, in a way you were because you said it has the same sense of humor to The OC. Im sorry, but it doesnt. The only character mildly funny is Naomi but even she cant compare to Seth, Summer, Sandy and even Caleb can be funny. No one else in 90210 is 'funny'.

    Why would the spinoff be but yet the actual show wouldnt? I think the original GG would be just as similar to The OC as the spinoff. And if you say its because itll be set in California, well so is BH90210 so that sort of contradicts your point.

    I watch 90210 too I dont think it is anywhere near the same level as The OC tho!! But its getting better as the season has gone by and yessss the scenary is nice. Makes me wish i were in Cali.

    Yes the O.C is just like 90210 but 90210 is better because in the O.C they killed Marissa in 90210 it's all fun ...

    Yea BH90210 is not similar to The OC neither is the new one.Look all I was trying to do was see if the fans of The OC were watching it.There's no need to go off on a rant.

    I agree that Gossip Girl would probably appeal more to OC fans than 90210 simply because the tones of the shows are polar opposites of one another--GG is snarky, 90210 is campy. Neither shows measure up to the OC in my eyes but GG is the one that I tune into every week, simply because I enjoy the dialogue and writing a lot more--given that Josh and Stephanie produce it, it's only natural it carries more similarities with the OC than 90210 does. 90210 can be entertaining (I watched the first half of the season) but you have to REALLY REALLY REALLY be ready to not take any of the characters or storylines seriously.

    But of course, to each, his or her own.

    Lol- I agree. They either copy other teen shows or they worry too much about love triangles than to actually build friendships with one another and have seperate SLs outside of that. Silver and Naomi are the only 2 I like, but Silvers been so different lately that Ive been kinda eh with her so if it wasnt for Naomi, Id probably stop watching.

    ok so im know im gonna make alot of oc fans mad when i say this but...One Tree Hill is way better than the OC ever was, like in the OC people left and every time, its was oh they moved, but in One Tree Hill when characters left it explains were they went, and why they went, and they usually come back for a few episodes later. But im also an oc fan too, its just now that the oc is over, i still have one tree hill to watching even though season 5 and 6 havent been good lately, but i still love the show.

    Yeah, theres a thread around here somewhere comparing the 2 shows and I basically said the same thing too, so dont feel bad. I still like The OCs backbone storyline more (Ryan vs. 2 brothers), the actors more, the characters more, the setting more (beautiful parts of CA versus NC) and most of their storylines more than OTH but I do wish it had the better writing/continuity OTH had. I dont know whether it was the decreasing in the same writers year after year or what but I do agree with that aspect of the show that I wish was changed.
