  • The power of Jesus and Moses, who would have thought?

It's just so clever how this show draws a parallel with different situations. Like despite Ryan living in a vastly more fortunate and rich neighbour compared to his Chino days, he still, at least for the episode, faced the problem of drinking, cops, and fights. Marissa's drinking problem looks like it could be a real problem, and it's nice how Sandy points out that although he is the boyfriend in the relationship, Ryan also isn't the mom like he was with his own mother--quite ironically. The most interesting part though was the whole love triangle bits with Seth, Anna, and Summer. Seth is still in full force with his arsenal of witty and hilarious jokes and lines, and of course the girls are armed with their own set of comebacks and disses to each other. Will be really interesting to see how this turns out.moreless

  • My favorite OC episode and favorite season 1 episode!

    9.5
    "Superb"
The OC is adorable this episode because it is im the middle of the greatest OC episodes from the greatest first season taht puts all of the other teen dramas way behind it.This is the greatest OC episode ever because it is a pop culture phenomenon. We are introduced to a whole new holiday Chrismukkah. The tone of the episode is good, warm and nice.Everything's so beautiful and the Chrismukkah is so adorable taht we can't get enough of it.
Seth introduces the whole world to his fictional holiday Chrimukkah and is in great mood because of the holiday. He is confused to choose between Summer and Anna who both give him perfect presents.Summer changes into A Wonder Woman just for him and Anna makes a comic book just for him.Seth receives the best presents ever and spent the Chrismukkah of his life.
Ryan and Marissa have some problems with Chrismas and the holidays because of their separated parents and family troubles.Marissa is found stealing from a store. She drinks herself and Ryan tells her taht he is sick of that because it reminds him of his old family days when his mother got drunk every single day.The scene between the two in the car is awesome.
Everything is great tis episode. It ia adorable and so heartwarming.Family problems, love, love triangles all being put together to create the greatest OC episode ever made.moreless

  • Christmas is a time for celebration, but for some of us, it brings out more problems.

Ryan gets an intro into what the holidays are like with a real family, but the holiday he celebrates is not your typical one. The conflict between Anna and Summer is apparent and it looks like their friendship was only temporary. Marissa and Ryan look like such a happy couple, but when Marissa is caught shoplifting from a mall; things don't look to good for her. Caleb's decision to disagree to settle with Sandy's firm brings problems for the holidays, as Caleb grinch like act forces Sandy to work. Marissa is forced to see therapy for her problems, and Kirsten's father's antics force her to give Sandy information that could get her fired. Summer and Anna's fight for Seth couldn't be more hilarious, it's a dream and a nightmare for Seth, because eventually he has to choose one girl. But things don't stay good for long, as Seth is forced to make a decision that is very hard because both girls have something different to offer. Marissa's lying to Ryan about her drinking problems could end up getting her into big problems. Marissa's drinking problem hits Ryan hard as he left his old life because of problems on the holidays. Marissa meets someone who understands her problems, and this presents a problem for Ryan and Marissa's relationship.moreless

  • Definitely not my favourite episode from season 1.

I think this is a pretty disappointing episode. The only part I really found intriguing is about the adults (with the Balboa Heights). Marissa drinking again was a bore, Ryan may as well have not been there as he didn't really do much except complain (about his family, the holidays and Marissa's attitude) and, well, now I really hate Seth - he doesn't deserve Summer nor Anna. I really hated the therapy scene at the end, it was so horribly done. Josh, as a big fan of the first season, I don't know how you could make such a disastrous episode.moreless

    • Goof: Seth says he has Jesus and Moses on his side, due to his innovative combining of Hanukkah and Christmas. However, in the Jewish faith, Judah Maccabee is the figurehead of Hanukkah, not Moses; Moses is the big guy of Passover. Edit
    • When Ryan and Marissa get pulled over, the officer asks for the license and registration... Ryan pulls both out of his jacket pocket. Although, since it's Marissa's car, why would Ryan have the registration for her car?? It would normally be in the glove compartment! Edit
    • When Kirsten (Kelly Rowan) opens the door for Jimmy you can hear her say "Hi Tate" which is the actor's name (Tate Donovan) not the character (Jimmy Cooper). Edit

    • Seth: Well the ladies laid down the law, it's over. Ryan: What're you gonna do? Seth: I have no idea, I don't know. No female has ever really offered me a, uh, a choice per se. I really only know how to handle rejection and ridicule, I have a really good handle on ridicule. How was your night? Ryan: Marissa got drunk and we got pulled over by the cops with an open container of Vodka. Seth: Hey, that Marissa, she's really making life interesting for you. Ryan: Yep, we got in a fight. Seth: What about the cop? Ryan: Got a radio call, let us off with a warning for a busted tail light. Now you see why I hate Christmas? Seth: Hang on a second, Ryan, it seems to me that what we have here is a Chrismukkah miracle. Thank you! Think about this for a second the old Ryan Atwood what woulda happened? He woulda got busted, for sure, but this time ya had Jesus workin' for ya, right, and then you also had Moses, workin' together, the super team, fightin' for you to keep you safe and give you a second chance! • Seth (to Ryan): Alright man, another Chrismukkah convert! Edit
    • Ryan: There's drinking, crying, cops. Well, then it must be Christmas. Edit
