  • Relationships are always brittle in The O.C.

    9.5
This episode is different. Although a clash in relationships have always been the center theme around The O.C., seeing Kirsten trying to demolish a relationship with Carter for her own personal reasons, is really odd, as well as Seth trying to monopolize women by inciting a bad reputation for Zach in front of their new friend Reed. Trey's situaton is always perplexing. When you suspect him of something, he's never in the wrong, but when you don't, he's either steeling a valuable object worth $10 000, or giving the girl he just picked up ecstasy. This episode almost feels like the silence before the storm.moreless

  • A 'lower-class' Newport rager that impesses me highly!

    9.1
A 'lower-class' Newport rager that impesses me highly! But even though the 'Rager' was fantastic, the true low key stars of this episode were for me Julie & Lance with their amazing reunitation that didn't anger me one bit. It made me really start to love Julie & realise what type of person she is & she was the best with her past! I just disliked the ending of this episode, I felt it was gay & didn't live up to the rest of the episode! Oh, who am I to complain? At least it's better than the season's first 5 episodes!moreless
  • Trey's Birthday

    9.3
After the last fight between brothers Trey moved in Alex's old place.

When Merissa found out that after few days is going to be Trey's

birthday, she wanted to throw a party over Nichol's Residence. She told

about it Ryan.. Who freaked out, when heard about it. Anyway, Seth

convinced Ryan to go over Trey's and felicitate Trey. When Ryan and

Seth were in front of Trey'is place they saw Trey leaving with

suspicious car, so they followed him. They saw Trey giving money to

some guy and suspected him buying drugs. Next day Ryan rushed into Trey

and demanded an explanation. Trey told him that he gave 5 bucks to an

old friend from prison. Ryan was shocked and was sorry. Merissa

organized that party and brought brothers together. The party went over

hand and some girl passed out after taking drugs in pool. Cops game and

wanted to arrest Merissa, but Trey said it was him who gave drugs to

    the girl.

Julie went over Lance and threatened him with empty gun, she wanted him

to feel what is like to lose everything within a moment. Lance was

sorry and apologized in front of her. They met and had a couple of

drinks and Lance gave her rest of the other tapes. Seth and Zach went

to a meeting about the comic book. They found out that the guy they had

to met wasn't really a guy, he was she. Zach was seduced by the woman

and went out with her to Trey's party.

Carter and Sandy had a great time together by surfing.. and that they

met Sandy's friend.. "Some Woman" (don't remember the real name)..

Sandy and Kirsten arranged a dinner with them. Looked like "The Woman"

    liked Carter.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: When Seth and Summer are talking on the couch, he puts his left hand around her. In the next scene, he is seen patting her on the shoulder, and then immediately after, his arm is around her again.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Summer: Cohen, just shut up. 'Cause even when you're not lying, you're lying.

    • Summer: Cohen learned how to grill this summer. It's a major life achievement.
Seth: That's right. I grilled some corn, I grilled some veggies, I found something in Marissa's fridge, I just— I grilled it.

    • Lance: Jules. How the hell did you find me?
Julie: Well it was easy, Lance. I just looked for the cheapest, scummiest motel near a liquor store, and voila.

    • Ryan: I think your mom would understand, don't you think? If she came home right now.
Marissa: Oh definitely. I mean, she did say Trey could have a beer.

    • Sandy (to Trey): Keep your mouth shut. I'll meet you in jail. (to the arresting officer) Officer, I'm his lawyer.

    • Zach: What are you doing telling her I'm gay?
Seth: No, I said "gay vibe." I distinctly remember saying "gay vibe." And the two are very different.

    • Seth: Would you relax. He's probably just going to buy cigarettes.... Or getting into that suspicious looking Camaro.... With a guy that looks like Lou Reed.

    • Carter: Kirsten, congratulations. As of this morning you are a bona fide magazine publisher.
Kirsten: I know. The first issue's on the stands.
Carter: I was referring to our first libel suit.

    • Lance: What the hell is that?
Julie: It's a gun genius. You use it to shoot people you want to kill.

    • Reed: (to Zach) You're like a Doogie Howser meets Gordon Gekko but with dimples.

    • (About his 21st birthday)
Trey: After being in prison, being able to buy beer feels a little anti-climactic.

    • Kirsten: Hey, Carter. You look nice.
Carter: Sandy told me to spiff it up a bit.
Sandy: Yeah, I didn't want him to embarrass us.

    • Seth: (About Trey) He doesn't exactly seem overburdened with possessions. Unless that bag of his is like Mary Poppins. (pause) I wish I'd never made that reference.

    • When Sandy gets the call from the kids he says "Where are you?" and "I'll be right there". This is the same things he said to Ryan when Ryan called in 1x15 "The Third Wheel".

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Seth: "Unless that bag of his is like Mary Poppins'."
Mary Poppins is, of course, a series of children's books, written by P.L. Travers, the first of which was published in 1934. It was not until 30 years later that it was made into a major motion picture, and 70 years later into a stage musical.

    • Ryan: People who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.
The accurate quote is "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.". It is from the book The Life of Reason (1905) by the American philosopher George Santayana (1863-1952).

    • Reed: You're like a Doogie Howser meets Gordon Gekko.
The TV series Doogie Howser, M.D." (1989-1993) was about a young genius who became a doctor at the age of 14. Gordon Gekko was the character played by Michael Douglas in the movie Wall Street (1987). Gekko was a ruthless and greedy corporate raider. His famous quote is "Greed is good."
