    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • This episode shows that the married Blanche and Oscar lived in the same apartment Felix and Oscar do, but that contradicts the opening narration which says Oscar's wife "had thrown him out, requesting that he never return." Dialog in previous episodes also indicate Blanche left a note for Oscar that she was leaving him for Reno rather than throwing him out as the narration said.

    • QUOTES (7)

      • Oscar: (to Felix) Why is it every time you wanna help me, you end up hurting me? You're like a vicious Saint Bernard!

      • Blanche: Where's my Oscar? You know what? He hides, every New Year's Eve. He did last year.
        Felix: Where'd you find him?
        Blanche: In Cleveland.

      • Felix: I just love this dip. What are these little black things?
Blanche: Oh, those are Oscar's cigar ashes.

      • Oscar: (on New Years Eve) Why don't you answer the door?
Blanche: We could answer it together.
Oscar: You answer it. And if it's a naked midget with a banner across his chest, tell him he's early.

      • Oscar: Kind of weird, isn't it? The two of us sitting here together celebrating our divorce.
Blanche: Weird? When I'm in California, I celebrate it every day.

      • Felix: Today is the anniversary of your divorce! I thought it would be fun if you celebrated it together.
Oscar: Fun? Aren't you the guy who got the survivors of the Hindenburg together?

      • Oscar: I told you, I already had lunch at the office.
Felix: What, Fig Newtons and creme soda? Hell's Angels eat better than you. And neater, too.

    • NOTES (1)

      • This is the first of two flashback episodes to chronicle the breakup of Oscar's and Blanche's marriage. The other is Episode 75, "The Odd Holiday"- which includes the breakup of Felix's and Gloria's marriage as well.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Episode title: A Night to Dismember
This is a pun on the 1958 movie, A Night to Remember, which was a fictionalization of the sinking of the Titanic.
