I agree...Mindy writing a wedding episode makes me kinda nervous. I think Paul has always hit the right note with romantic episodes, and he would be a better choice...

Here's a date of interest--they have just started production on season six. Rainn Wilson Twittered (rainnwilson) yesterday that they were having an Office table read and it's "like the first day of school." Mindy Kaling Twittered (mindykaling) overnight that today is her directing debut (though on second glance she doesn't specifically say it's The Office). She scheduled to direct?

Actually, what they are sort of doing now is for the Webisodes. They start filming s6 Monday, but webisodes today. And the webbies are written and directed by Mindy. Entitled Subtle Sexuality
Premise: "The Dartmouth alum is helming (and appearing in) the next batch of "Office" webisodes, which revolve around a female rock band called Subtle Sexuality."
    And there's dancing involved.

Nothing official datewise about when premiering. Just Fall.

That explains Mindy's twitter about taking dancing lessons with Ellie Kemper, then.

I guess it just takes a day to do them, as Mindy tweeted that the "cast and crew was amazing", so it sounds like they're done. Some guys get to dance, too, as she said "Just directed Kemper, Helms & Novak in highly choreographed dance and singing sequences".

I was just coming here to mention that Paul is writing and directing the premiere, but you beat me to the punch! The calendar has been updated to include that tidbit, along with the episode title.

Also of note: Rainn will be Conan's first guest tomorrow night, July 29.

Lots of talk show appearances coming up, some new and some old...

Wed 8/12: BJ on Conan (New)
Fri 8/14: Ed on Carson Daly (Repeat)
Mon 8/17: Rashida on Craig Ferguson (Repeat)
Tue 8/18: Rashida on Ellen (Repeat)
Tue 8/18: John on Jimmy Fallon (Repeat)
Fri 8/21: BJ on Tavis Smiley (New)
Fri 8/21: Steve on Ellen (Repeat)
Fri 8/28: BJ on Jimmy Kimmel (New)

Obviously, BJ is out promoting "Inglourious Basterds." It's a little early for any of the gang to be out promoting the return of "The Office," but most of the talk shows are taking time off before the new TV season begins anyway. I'm sure in September when the season draws nearer, all of the shows will be new again and our favorites will be all over the place...

    Third episode title: "The Promotion"

David Wallace breaks the bad news that not everyone will get a raise this year. Dwight reaches his breaking point with Jim and looks to the rest of the office for allies. Pam would like cash instead of wedding gifts.

Steve Carell appeared on the nationally-syndicated "Bob & Tom" radio show this morning. During the interview, Steve mentioned that he believes they'll be making 27 episodes (27 half-hours) this season. For what it's worth, Wikipedia claims there will be 26, but it doesn't provide a source. I still haven't seen any official word about how many episodes we'll get, but it sounds like 26-27 is a pretty good bet at this point.

More talk shows coming up soon...

Wed 9/30: Steve will visit Leno.

Fri 10/2: John will visit Regis & Kelly in the morning, and Jenna will visit Leno in the evening. In addition, as previously announced, John will visit Conan on the Tonight Show.

Big week for high-profile appearances, which makes me think they're really going to push the 10/8 Jam wedding episode...

    New episode titles...

    10/15: Mafia

No plot details yet, but we do know that 10/8 will feature the Jim/Pam wedding.

New summaries are up. Both sound good to me...

    NIAGARA [10/8]:
The Office travels to Niagara Falls to celebrate Jim and Pam's wedding under strict orders not to mention Pam's pregnancy. Michael, Dwight, and Andy all want to hook up with guests at the wedding, and Michael and Dwight meet twins.

    MAFIA [10/15]:
Michael meets with an insurance salesman that visits the office and is later convinced by Dwight and Andy that he is part of the mafia. Erin accidentally ruins Pam's painting.
