The Office goes to Gettysburg!

This episode had several moments that were down right funny. Gabe accidently gets mistaken by kid as Abraham Lilcon. He tells a group about Abs. own tragic death from Abs. point of view.(This makes him miss the tour till the last second). But my favorite part was Dwight the whole time. He kept on telling people that the battle of Schrute farms was the most north, instead of Gettysburg. Oscar keeps on telling him he is wrong. As it turns out the was something at Schrute farms, but it wasn't a war. A group settled there so they wouldn't have to fight in the war. They did plays,drawing and a bunch of other things.

The episode was pretty funny, at least watch it once.moreless

The Battle For Laughs

The Officewas at war last night and there were many casualties. Season 8, in my mind, hasn't delivered many laughs and episodes like "Gettysburg" suggest that Office writers are running out of ideas.

"Gettysburg" felt like a rehash of several past episodes, and Andy, the new Regional Manager, is still acting very much like Michael Scott. Ed Helms is a terrific actor, but he's not suited for the job of Regional Manager.

Eight episodes in, The Office no longer feels like the Office, it feels completely different. Need more evidence? Just pop in any episode from Season two into your DVD player and you'll see how far this series has come crashing down to.

I was at war last night watching "Gettysburg." On one hand, I don't want to abandon a show that I've watched for the last seven-eight years of my life, but on the other hand, I'm not totally sure this is even the show I fell in love with eight years ago.

There were a few laughs from "Gettysburg," moments that reminded me of the series' earlier run, but I felt mostly cheated by the rehashed storytelling this episode offered. Andy wasn't supposed to serve as a Michael Scott 2.0, but the writers made Andy that way.

The Robert California character, meanwhile, is still ineffective. I find him neither funny or annoying. I'm just, "Oh look, there's James Spader. What's he doing on the Office." Seriously. The guy is underused on the show, and I'm entirely sure why he's even on this show.

Overall, I'd give "Gettysburg" a 5/10, which in my mind, is a generous score considering the type of season we've been given this year. Hopefully, The Office rebounds next month with the annual Christmas episode.moreless

Andy hopes to inspire the staff by taking them on a trip to Gettysburg. Meanwhile, those who stay behind in Scranton are prodded by Robert to come up with great ideas for the company. I thought that this was an excellent episode of "The Office". One of best episodes of the season. Well, it's not perfect but it is very close though. My score was only a tad bit low because I thought a couple of parts were a little boring and could have added a little more humor to it. Other than that, I really liked this episode and I totally thought it was worth watching. There were many funny parts in this episode that made me laugh very hard. Dwight asking about the man about the history of Schrute Farms and then Dwight asks "How much do you get paid to shut up?" (or something like that) was very funny. Kevin was super hilarious in this episode and Kevin sharing his idea with Robert California was very funny and entertaining. I think it is also interesting how this season, some of the office staff are going out of the office and going some activity. Think about it, in the earlier seasons, most of the episodes were just the staff being inside the office doing their job but now I've noticed how they are actually getting out more often which I find to be very interesting. Overall, this was an excellent episode of "The Office" and it was totally worth watching. 9.5/10moreless
