  • Descent into the world of Robert California

    8.5
After viewing 'Pool Party' (thanks to the Blu Ray player hooking up to the Universal Website) I think that this is the best episode of Season Eight. The opening about meatballs turns the Jim/Dwight situation on its head and is genuinely laugh out loud. The rest of the episode is a hilarious descent into the world of Robert California - one of the strangest creations in US sitcom land. My only gripe is that the Jim character is starting to seem rather redundant.moreless
  • Robert California hosts a pool party at his mansion

Prior to its sale, Robert hosts a pool party at his mansion where Erin hits on Dwight to make Andy jealous. I thought that this was an excellent episode of "The Office". It was very funny, the storyline was well executed, and it's one of the best episodes I've seen this season. This season has been different from all the other seasons from this show. No, I'm not talking about Steve Carell not being in this show anymore but I do miss him.... the show is still doing pretty well though. I'm saying that this season has been different from the other seasons because it seems like most of the episodes this season just have the office employees and warehouse employees get out of the office. Like we are seeing less office this season which I like because they are getting more into the "outside of the office" episodes. In this "outside of the office" episode, Robert California hosts a pool party at his mansion and the office employees and warehouse employees have been invited. There have been many funny moments in this episode that brought good laughs. First of all, the beginning of the episode with Jim with fooling Dwight around with the meatballs such as Dwight having a meatball on his stapler and the meatballs in his drawer along with Stanley laughing at anything meatball-related was very funny. As for the pool party scenes throughout the episode, it was just so funny. I loved how Erin is using Dwight to make Andy jealous which doesn't work. I also thought the very ending of the episode was very funny when Robert took his all of his clothes and jumped in the pool naked along with everyone cheering or being shocked by his nudity. Overall, an excellent episode of "The Office" and I really love that most of the episodes this season focus less on the office and more with what everyone does "outside of the office". 10/10moreless
  • One of the better episodes this season

    9.0
I think it's safe to say that whether Michael Scott left or not, a lot of Office fans had already become disillusioned with the show in the later seasons, thinking it had lost it's edge or bite. I wasn't one of those people, so I gave the show a fair chance this season without Michael and frankly I still look forward to watching the show every week, and this episode is a perfect example of why. Robert California is a completely different kind of character from Michael Scott but he has his own charms and watching him mourn his past good times by having a final pool party at his huge mansion was great, especially when he came to realize at the end of the night that while he's been mourning another good time has been growing all around him with this cast of characters from Dunder Mifflin. Watching he, Gabe, and Ryan all strip and jump in the pool at the end was hilarious, as was Jim's horrified reaction to it. Lots of more Andy and Erin stuff in this episode as well, with Andy exhibiting more doubts about his new separate relationship. All in all, I laughed several times through out this episode and enjoyed every minute of it, great stuff.moreless
  • Boring.

Pretty boring. Andy is still as lame as ever this season.
