Michael realizes that his ex-girlfriend, Jan, is pregnant. Meanwhile, Jim's intention to propose to Pam is postponed when he hears that Andy has proposed to Angela. After accepting Andy's proposal, a bored Angela begins an affair with Dwight.
Toby leaves Dunder Mifflin, and Michael plans a huge goodbye party—out of joy. Angela refuses to help with it, so Michael turns to Phyllis. Dwight and Meredith harrass Holly, their new HR representative.

After being admitted to the hospital, it is discovered that Meredith is suffering from rabies, prompting Michael to organize a five-kilometer Dunder Mifflin charity run to raise awareness for the disease. Angela suspects Dwight of murdering her cat, and breaks up with him.
