Bill exposes CNN for their less than truthful and more than biased story

Should CNN be fined or should they be sued for slander?

CNN did a story calling Bill O'reilly a racist when the facts were that he was talking against racism. It was from some liberal watchdog group that manipulated the situation for their opportunistic gain, and then CNN decided they would use the story. The O'reilly people called them before the story ran and explained the truth, yet CNN did the story anyways.

That seems like slander, a lack of journalist integrity and ethic on CNN's part. CNN should put their personal feelings aside and shouldn't post a story if it's just heresay or bias, yet they did anyways.

This was really shocking - O'Reilly had an extended conversation with Juan Williams because Williams had written a book about racism - and then Media Matters, which is a very 'fact-challenged' site, put their own anti-O'Reilly spin on it, cutting, snipping and fabricating - okay - that's what Media Matters does - but for CNN and MSNBC to pick up the MM spin and not do any fact checking or ask for a copy of the entire interview before they ran with the story did nothing to discredit O'Reilly and did serious damage to their owncredibility as journalists - the conversation that Dan Abrams and STeve Audobato had was really a disgrace! And the Daily News ran with it for one reason - they are the major competitor of the NY Post which is owned by the same company that owns Fox News. The upshot is that everyone who took the time to check this story out winds up siding with O'Reilly EVEN if they don't like him or his show. And the follow up work CNN did, bashing Juan Williams of all people! A disgrace!

Does anyone actually watch CNN anyway? I don't care what they say about Bill, I still like him, and his show.

CNN should at least apologize. I don't think they did that...

It only damages their credibility with those viewers that actually check the facts. I estimate most viewers do not check the facts and do any kind of digging for facts, and thus, are easily brainwashed.
