The Orson Welles Sketchbook is a 1955 six-part series from BBC Four that featured the world-renowned actor and director. Welles recounts his memories from his first theater performance in Dublin to his "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast that set of a national panic to directing a production of Shakespeare's "Macbeth" in Harlem, as well as touching on political topics such as race and state control. Throughout the 15-minute monologues, Welles sketches pictures for the camera.
