The closed-captioning track was out of sync with the episode for a while and so captions for the episode were showing up during the first commercial break.
Sharon: What are you getting for Jack's birthday?
Kelly: I've been thinking about it for a really long time...."
Sharon: And?"
Kelly: I haven't thought of anything that I could get him, yet.
Sharon: Oh.
Kelly and Christina's feud continued at the 2003 MTV Europe Awards. Host Christina was shown throwing darts at a photo of Kelly backstage, prompting presenter Kelly to remark that Christina was "sad." Kelly was loudly booed for her comments, and Justin Timberlake (who won the award handed out by Kelly) comforted her after joking, "I'm glad that I won this and not somebody else" (meaning fellow nominee Christina). The footage was left in when the show aired on MTV 2, but Sharon later persuaded MTV to remove the incident from subsequent rebroadcasts.
There were 47 bleeped vulgarities in this episode.
At the close of the episode, Kelly appears over the closing credits and says that she has since reconsidered some of her past remarks about Christina.
"Cup of Life" by Ricky Martin plays during the scene at Medieval Times; and "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera plays during the last scene.
