  • Trivia

    • When the first astronaut walks out onto Mars surface, it can be clearly seen in profile there is no glass visor on his space helmet.

    • Major Merritt is on a piece of rock far smaller than the rock that M1 is on, yet the creature is unable to reach him when it was earlier able to reach at lest two men near M1.

    • Since the Martian "desert" was filmed in a water tank covered in powdered cork, the water is often visible both when the creature raises its claws out of the water, and often behind it as it "swims" through the sand.

    • According to David J. Schow's The Outer Limits Companion, this episode had an alternate title: "The Yellow Sand."

  • Allusions
