      • The Nov 27, 1971 issue of TV Guide referenced this upcoming episode in its 'TV Teletype: Hollywood' feature with the following blurb: "JACK WEBB plays the police comissioner--and probably straight man too-- in The Partners, the DON ADAMS-RUPERT CROSSE cop comedy. It's certainly a far cry from Dragnet for Webb."

      • The casting of Jack Webb in the cameo role of The Commissioner was no doubt a nod to Webb's pioneering work in television police series - especially Dragnet which he created and in which he starred from 1951 to 1959 and again from 1967 to 1970.
