Show Summary

The Pat Paulsen Half a Comedy Hour' was a 1970 comedy series which ran for one season on ABC. It featured such varied guests as Hubert Humphrey the former Vice President of the United States, cartoon character Daffy Duck, Henry Fonda, Wilt Chamberlain, Don Rickles, Debbie Reynolds, Andy Williams, Angie Dickenson, Joann Worley and Mike Connors. The show was hosted by the comedian Pat Paulsen, most known for his work on 'The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour' and numerous comedic attempts at running for the position of president of the Unite States in 1968, 1972, 1980, 1988, 1992 and 1996. His attempts at the presidency we primarily comedic though he received numerous votes regardless. In the 1992 Republican Party Primaries he received 10,984 total votes. He responded to all criticisms towards his campaigns by saying 'picky, picky, picky.' His slogan was 'Just a common, ordinary, simple savior of America's Destiny.'
