Happy King Julien Day is a day where everyone appreciates King Julien and must do what he says to honor and respect him. Skipper however doesn't want to participate in this day-long activity, and works around his habitat while everyone else is partying. Can all of the other zoo animals excite King Julien and not have him freak on them? I thought that this was a perfect episode of "The Penguins of Madagascar". This is easily one of my favorite episodes from Season 1. Oh my gosh, it's been a couple of years since I've seen this episode but I have yet so many things that I remember from it. Nickelodeon really needs to re-run Penguins episodes (well.. they do except like at 5am or 6am or at 1pm while we're at school in the weekdays). Anyways, I love this episode and I thought it was very well done and it's one of King Julien's best episodes yet. I laughed when Maurice was bribing the zoo animals with candy (which is inside the pinata) in order for them to honor and respect King Julien on his special day King Julien Day leaving Skipper being only zoo animal NOT to obey but also have fun on King Julien Day. I laughed at a bunch of moments and I loved seeing the zoo animals doing activities that King Julien order to them to do such as baking cakes, and all that good stuff. I cracked up at the fruit tossing scene. A few of Marlene's lines in this episode were memorable and hilarious. I also loved the zoo animals' obsession over candy. It was also hilarious how King Julien named the pinata Bob and I also thought it was a very cute and sweet of King Julien to share all of the candies with the zoo animals even though he doesn't know it's candy inside the pinata. The storyline was just amazing and the execution was well done, I hope to see this episode again in the future but one thing I will NEVER forget is that this episode is my favorite and it's hilarious. Overall, one of the best episodes from Season 1, no doubt about it. 10/10moreless

Can all of the other zoo animals excite King Julien and not have him freak on them? IMO, this was the first perfect episode of POM. The last 4 were either good or superb, but this episode was super funny and perfect. The plot was really great. I lol'd when Marlene ate some of the candy and then Kowalski covered Private's eyes. It was funny that Rico yelled Buttons! It was funny when Marlene said "It's not Christmas and it's not July." It was funny when Maurice started the fruittossingand Marlene asked "Where exactly?" and then Maurice said "At you, exactly." It was funny that Kowalski isobsessedwith candies. It was also funny when the cake got threw at Skipper's head. It was funny that King Julien named the pinata Bob. Overall, the episode was very funny and perfect. 10/10moreless

I just want to say that The Penguins Of Madagascar is starting to have very good episodes.I mean,For me?This episode is like one of the best episodes ever made.Even partying with all of that candy. It's the best King Julien episode ever made and it was sweeter than Operation:Plush And Cover.I mean,I get the point that it is a very good show and all of that, but this is the only episode that is much sweeter.I can say that it has been better than some of the worst episodes ever made on this show or some of the good ones. It's still a good show, but a good episode.moreless
  • BUTTONS! lol

    9.0
This is one of the episodes that made me fall in love with The Penguins of Madagascar! The plot is funny itself since, I particularly love how cocky Julien can be sometimes, he thinks he's so important he even deserves a whole day dedicated to him ,and not just that, but everybody has to celebrate the "awesomeness" that is him! It made sense that Maurice had to look for a way to make the other animals participate, in this case, with a Piñata full of yummy candy. I LOVED the running gag of Rico shouting "BUTTONS!" at any random moment, he makes me want to shout "buttons!" too. It all ended well, which makes the episode watch-worthy. Great episode of a great new show, hope the soon-to-come episodes are as funny as this one.

oh, btw, this is my first Penguins of Madagascar episode review!moreless
  • A funny, fresh, refreshingly entertaining cartoon episode segment! :D

    10
I'm not sure where to put this cartoon series down as far as whether or not this will become a massive hit, but so far, the evidence of what I have seen in this cartoon so far is evidence that this cartoon is a great change of pace, and what Nickelodeon has desperately needed in order to revive itself! Before this cartoon came out, I was worried that Nickelodeon's viability as a network that programs funny and/or children's television was rapidly, Rapidly coming to a close. But this T.V. series has given Nickelodeon the juice it needed in order to get back into the daily routine of providing the hilarious kind of laughs from characters that people can instantly grow to know and love! There's already Skipper, Private, Rico, Kowalski, King Julien, Maurice, Mort, and the two funny monkeys from the movie; but there is also one new character who manages to provide witty banter and attitude that allows her to hold her own against the established stars! The otter named Marlene, voiced by professional actress Nicole Sullivan gives the aquatic critter the official voice of comprehension and reason to an otherwise chaotic cast of animals! Of course, with Marlene being voiced by Nicole Sullivan, Marlene can't help but be funny whenever she has to try to bring her fellow animals down to Earth whenever things begin to get too rowdy. But this is a great episode that shows what happens on a regularly daily basis. King Julien wishes to be admired, respected, and worshiped by animals; while Skipper demands duty and discipline from his penguin cohorts and other animals. This episode is a good example of the friction that flies between the penguins and the lemurs in the zoo when the humans aren't looking! I really enjoyed this episode segment and I hope there are many more episode segments like this that I can watch and enjoy! Enough said, true believers! ;)moreless
