Marlene tells the penguins she found an egg in her habitat and asks the penguins to take care of it since birds are natural care-takers. Skipper is not very happy about it, but Private is very enthusiastic to take care of the little egg. Then King Julien insists that the egg belongs to him and that he has paternal rights. He demands the penguins to take care of "his" baby egg too. The penguins face some problems when Rico ties the egg to a kite to make it fly but the egg falls and gets lost. Julien finds the egg and starts singing and dancing of how happy his "J.J." (Julien Junior) makes him. For a second they thought the egg got eaten by someone on the zoo, but it wasn't their egg.
The baby egg starts sticking out his little feet and runs around the zoo. The penguins finally find the egg, and it gets born, when a Duck that was looking for her egg finds it.
