      • Old timers will recall the ill-fated descent of Collins into a cave near Cave City, Ky., in 1925. As a tourist guide, Collins was seeking a new entrance into Mammoth Cave when a 6 ton rock fell and pinned him 120 feet underground.

William Burke Miller, newspaper reporter, weighed only 110 pounds and he descended into the hole and began a two-week task of trying to rescue Collins and at the same time keep the world informed of progress in the rescue.

Miller, now night operations officer for NBC in New York City, will serve as technical advisor on the show and be introduced by Producer Fred Coe.

      • At the end of the episode there are brief appearances by Homer Collins (Floyd's brother) and Skeets Miller, the cub reporter who tried to comfort Floyd during the long ordeal.
