Produced by David Susskind, The Play of the Week was one of the best high quality series in early television history. George Bernard Shaw's "Don Juan in Hell," starring George C. Scott as The Devil, was a notable standout as was Eugene O'Neil's "The Iceman Cometh" starring Jason Robards Jr. as Hicky.
