  • A great show with the last good plot line revolving around Jimmy Berluti. And Alan at his vile best.

    9.5
A great show highlighting why TP is such a great show. The one plot line with Jimmy and Jamie defending an elderly man, Walter Josephson or as we know him Ralph Waite aka Mr. Walton, who is accused of killing a member of the local Irish mob is a great one with many plot twists and surprises. The Jimmy story is a more typical Practice plot line and one of its better examples.

The Alan Shore plot line is a very disturbing one. It highlights the vile disturbed and twisted mind of Alan Shore. Alan helps a long time friend Dwight Haber played well by Michael Nouri who is going through a nasty divorced from his slutty wife. As its stated in the show Alan goes to “his inner core” to do whatever he needs to for his friend. That core is a dark place indeed. There is a very perverted and disturbed scene with Alan and Tara where Alan despicably propositions Tara to have sex on the famous conference table that Lindys got way back in season2. This scene is hot and dark at the same time which hight lights the DEK writing team at its best. The show ends with Alan picking up a street hooker in a seedy part of Boston. He tells the hooker that his name is Eugene which brings a chuckle but this scene highlights the deep emotional problems that Alan has. It is a very dark disturbing scene to watch, Alan Shore a man of great intellect but with a self loathing problem that colors his every action. This is the Alan Shore that is sorely lacking Boston Legal but what makes The Practice season 8 so great.moreless
