  • Bobby races against the clock to clear his Parish Priest of a potential manslaughter charge when an exorcism goes wrong,Eugene negotiates a settlement in a medical malpractice case & James Berluti, attorney at law, becomes 'Jimmy the Grunt'.

Sadly, this is one of those silly episodes that 'The Practice' dishes up from time to time & is only saved by a stellar performance from veteran actor Robert Prosky as Father Martin,Bobby's Parish Priest.

We are, however, introduced to another of David E Kelley's hobby horses. The American Health Care system.Kelley will ride in on this hobby horse again before 'The Practice' finishes its multi-season run & continue riding it in episodes of 'Boston Legal'.

Jimmy decides to 'bring something to the table' by shooting a fairly gauche commercial highlighting his ability to go into bat for the 'little guy'.While this particular storyline has almost nothing to offer,Jimmy's ad does cause an argument between him & Lindsay over lawyering styles & as much as I love Lindsay she's out of line here but does have the grace to later apologise to Jimmy for her comments.Unfortunately for Jimmy though, portraying himself as 'Jimmy the Grunt' will come back to bite him on the backside.

Also, listen out for Ellenor's remark to Bobby that their firm is basically all about 'reasonable doubt for a reasonable fee' as it will be taken up by Denny Crane as his tagline in 'Boston Legal'.
