      • Lindsay: Bobby, I'm sorry, I didn't mean -
        Bobby: Forget about it.
Lindsay: I've just been...I hate myself for crying.
Bobby: I know. Look, this whole office is here for you. Whatever you need.
        Lindsay: Thank you.
Bobby: (Taking a step closer to her) I'm here for you. You know that, right?

      • Ellen: Ok, could you at least clean the floor a little? This is a first date tonight.
        Lindsay: So?
Ellen: So, I'm not gonna bring a guy into my bedroom on the first date. If we're gonna go to town it's gonna happen right here on this rug. (Lindsay gives her a look.) Kidding. A joke. Come on, think back to when you had a sense of humor. When was the last time you even laughed?
Lindsay: Probably college. I came home one night and there you were going to town with some guy on the rug.

      • Ellenor: Do you think maybe to retaliate, she could have gone home from the bar with some guy? Is that possible?
Jay Hickman: Ms. Frutt. I've spent the last two months desperately trying to convince myself, that isn't possible.

      • Tisbury: There was no willful attempt to withhold evidence.
Judge West: Then how unfortunate that I don't believe you.

      • Ellenor: (Reading passage from magazine) Hapless podiatrist whose social life consisted of pornography videos and women he met through the personals. (End magazine passage.) I was one of them.
Eugene: Except you kept your head about it.

    • NOTES (3)

    • ALLUSIONS (3)

      • A witness for Jimmy's case makes a reference to the hostages and Khomeini. Iran held 66 American civilians and diplomats hostage from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini became Iran's leader just three days prior to the hostage crisis.

      • Bader's attorney, Ms. Wharton, makes a reference to the bomb in Okalahoma City. This is in reference to when a rental truck was left in front of a federal building in Downtown Okalahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people.

      • Jimmy makes a reference to when they put a bomb in the World Trade Center. This is not the infamous attack on 9-11-2001. The reference is regards to a prior attack on February 26, 1993 when a Ryder truck was parked in the underground garage of the building, filled with explosives. The bombing killed six people.
