  • The question rises again...

A question that i always wonder myself..How can you free guilty people (or defend the innocence accused of vicious crimes and go home and sleep? Well lately eugene wife has been wondering the same thing, and since he cant come up with a answer she leaves him yet again. Hes defending a man who raped and possible (well he did to eugene eyes) killed a woman, or raped a dead corpse. Anywho its nasty, eugene..well let me say that everyone from jimmy, ellenor, eugene and bobby (lindsay pretty much shoot straight) perform closings that exposes themselves in a bad way i might add. Eugene in open court basically told the jury that he believe that his client is guilty and he is disgusted by even defending him, but then make a point to highlight that reasonable doubt was still the case. By law if you dont have evidence that says my client did it you must rule not guilty.A damn good cop out, and a way to consciously defend your client without bias. Damn good job eugene!moreless
  • It's episodes like this that makes this show great.

    9.8
This episode is exactly why I watch this show. Even though Steve Harris is nowhere near the best actor in the series, Eugene Young is far and away the meatiest role and you can bet that any episode with him at the heart will be dark and heavy and more than a little disturbing, this episode is a perfect example and shows exactly what sets this series apart from all the others. It just is not afraid to get its hands dirty. All we know is that Eugenes client is accused of raping and murdering a woman, whereas according to him “all he did was had sex with her after he found her dead body”. You feel Young’s disgust with his client, and probably share his conviction that his client is probably guilty yet he still maintains a defence because his client is entitled to one, which only serves to add to his own self loathing and emotional shutdown.moreless
