An article by Matthew Gilbert looks into some actors and shows that have been snubbed in recent years by the Emmy Awards.

Who else (shows and/or actors) do you think deserve an Emmy nomination/award but have never gotten one? And why do you think they deserve one?

Jake Weber (Joe Dubois on Medium) deserves at least a nomination for the past three years that he has played Patricia Arquette's husband on the show. Their relationship as husband-and-wife is so believable and is one of the best on TV drama today.

Virtually every performance by Callum Keith Rennie as Leoben on Battlestar Galactica is worthy of an Emmy nomination. Whenever he interacts with Starbuck, you can almost see the wheels turning in his head as he manipulates her intellectually and emotionally. She KNOWS he's screwing with her head, but she can't help but see moments of truth in what he says. Every encounter leaves her just a little bit more in his grip, but she doesn't seem to realize it.

Now that I think about it, Katee Sackhoff is deserving of a nomination for those very same scenes! Her performance shows an arrogant, self-assured combat pilot who is actively keeping her guard up around Leoben, but once in a while, she lets her true feelings out when he hits a nerve. It's truly remarkable that she hasn't been nominated yet. It seems that sci-fi is not held in high regard with Emmy voters. They don't seem to realize that deep space is the setting, not the genre.
