    Mine are

    1. Leo McKern
    2. Mary Morris
    3. Peter Wyngarde
    4. Colin Gordon
    5. Patrick Cargill

Morris and Wyngarde should definitely have been it more than once, even as different characters. I'm just glad the others were.

I love Peter Wyngarde as a villian, much more so than his role as Jason King in Department S. As such, his performance in "Checkmate" is my favorite. I love his laugh in the opening of the "Checkmate" episode after the "I am not a number, I'm a free man!" line.

It's hard, though, because the revolving door at Number Two's house made it hard to get interested in a Number Two.

You know I've just realised that of my favourite Number Twos, Peter Wyngarde is the only one who is still alive. That's kind-of depressing

I love Wyndgarde as a villain as well. In Flash Gordon he practically stole the show from Max Von Sydow as Klytus, and that was with him wearing a mask as well.

He also had the best laugh next to McKern for that title sequence.  =)

Colin Gordon was great in "A B and C" and "The General". However, I'm pretty confused as to how he rebounded from his failiure in "A B and C" to come back in "The General".

Another thing; is it just me, or is the Number Two in "Hammer Into Anvil" a sheer idiot?!

I loved the number two is "Hammer into Anvil" because of how badly he got destroyed.....

But overall, I'd say Leo Mckern

Were you a "Rumpole" fan? Did you ever see McKern in the Beatles film "Help?"

You know who McKern reminds me of? The Professor from Sliders.
