Actually, i've just had a bloody amazing idea who could be cast as the prisoner if they made a new series (this is presuming they did it in england and didn't Yanky-fy it). Drum roll.... "Life on Mars"'s very own John Simm!!!! WHo better than DCI Sam Tyler to take over the iconic role. He's the right biuld, looks like a pretty tough and clever chap, and can pull off a cheesy all black suit. Yeah, that would be class.

In fairness though, whats the point in making a new version of The Prisoner. I'm of the belief that stuff should only be re-made if its gonna improve upon the original and, to be honest, i reckon that the original was so groundbreaking for its time, a newer version would be forever in its shadow.

But what the hell do i know? It could just be the best thing ever!

I, an older person, can admit that our hero McGoohan is probably quite old, and am guessing he is not in the best of health. The last several jobs he's taken have been voice jobs. I don't think we can hold our breath for his return to any screen.

But it exists. http://www.amctv.com/originals/the-prisoner/ At least Sir Ian McKellen will add a touch of class as Leo McKern!

John Simm would kick ass. Either way, I'm looking forward to this a lot.
