AIRED:
A virtual police state has been imposed by a local Chief Constable, resulting in a supposedly almost crime-free city. But that is because all the crime is taking place behind the scenes by the police officers themselves - who will think of nothing of imposing on suspects' rights in their pursuit of 'zero tolerance'. Bodie and Doyle become hunted men when they visit the city and begin to question the rather unorthodox methods of action taken by the local constabulary.moreless

I remember watching this episode when I was about eleven - certain bits really stuck in my mind - the bit with Bodie about to get beaten up and Doyle springing out of the cupboard with a camera. Didn't remember him carrying a gun and was really worried while i was watching this time around wondering how on earth they would get away.

This programme was surprisingly forward thinking - all this stuff about avoiding a police state etc and this was filmed during the height of the IRA campaigns in the UK.

Gordon jackson is such a super star. How did he not make it big in Hollywood? He is such a great loss to the British acting establishment.

Hard to picture Doyle coming from Derby.moreless
