The Ray Martin Show was a television variety show special hosted by Australian journalist and entertainment personality Ray Martin. The studio-based program was one of many developed and hosted by Martin between 1985 and 1993, and focused on interviews with Australian and international celebrities. Most of the American stars who appeared on show did so to promote projects filmed in or written about Australia, such as the film "Candy." Musical guests usually promoted Australian stops on global tours. Notable guests on the Ray Martin Show included actors Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, musicians Elton John and Madonna, and comedian Robin Williams. Martin also featured many live musical performances on his program; artists who performed included American country/folk singer John Denver, singer/songwriter Dido and Alaskan chanteuse Jewel. Between 1985 and 1993, Martin also hosted a daily television program called Midday with Ray Martin, and other specials including Ray Martin Presents and Up Close and Personal.
