    This over all was just a fun episode. It had a fairly deep plot for a cartoon show, and it showed. The end scene is my favourite though, the ship is sinking and pans in to reveal the form of a man clinging to the top of the mast with an ax in his hands. It looks like Black Jack Lee, only, the man who had been playing him is in custody. The first time I saw this episode I sat back and smiled because it was that creepy. It was also fun to get to see what sort of toys the Quests have at their disposal.moreless

  • The Quest Team's first adventure. They investigate an attack on an oil expedition to see if it was really attacked by a ghost pirate named Black Jack Lee. Turns out to be an elaborate scheme to get BJL's sunken ship. No one gets it in the end.moreless

    This episode wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. And it's definitely not the one I would have picked for the first episode. The plot and idea was cool and well-written but the actual portrayal of events was rather lacking. There wasn't much action with most of the main characters. There wasn't a whole lot of action period, just the very beginning (with a bunch of random one-shot characters) and the very end. It was also the first appearance for Jessie (well, she was in old-school JQ a couple of times as a slightly different character and she was in Jonny's Golden Quest but this was her first time as a permanent member of the Quest team) but they didn't really introduce her much. She was just kind of there helping Dr. Quest. In fact, they didn't give you much insight into any of the characters. Some people, like myself, did not watch old-school Jonny Quest so I wasn't familiar with any of the characters when I started watching this show. They definitely could have given more feel for who these characters were, you know, some insight into their personalities etc. Although this episode is far from awful, after seeing most if not all of the other TRA of JQ episodes at one time or another, I thought this was a poor choice for the series premiere.moreless

  • Dr. Quest invesigates a sunken ship with treasure on board

    This was the first episode of the new series, and i have to say it was a good way to start it off.

    The Quest team are investigating a sunken ship called the Ivory Web only for crooks to attack their ship and Kidnapped Dr.Quest and Jessie.

    With Race out cold it was up to Jonny and Hadji to rescue Benton and Jessie.

    Jonny went off to get help only for him to get kidnapped as well but using a trick Hadji taught him he managed to escape and rescue Benton and Jessie.

    All the drama wasn't over when they had to get out of there, Dr. Quest very nearly gets his head taken off when the leader of the gang throws an axe at it but somehow they get out.moreless
