Ray mentions that the Ghostbusters hadn't encountered vampires before this episode, which is incorrect for they did deal with vampires in the earlier episode "No One Comes to Lupusville."
When Ray says "Whew! Saved by the bell!" for the phone, the phone rings after Ray says the line.
We learn that pea soup green is Egon's favorite color, and Ray has a tuxedo in that color. Which is why Ray is "such a lonely man," Peter says.
In the scene where the Civil War troops attack each other and the Ghostbusters are caught in the middle, Winston was originally on the left side, but then is on the right side.
Janine's car makes its first appearance in this episode. It is a little red VW Bug convertible. This is also the first episode in which the Ghostbusters borrow her car. They would borrow Janine's car in a number of episodes throughout the series.
When the Ghostbusters are trying to recapture Mr Stay Puft, he starts to go down the wrong street, away from their trap. We hear Egon run forward and shouting "Hey! Fat boy!" to attract his attention. In a subsequent shot, we see Peter in the position Egon should be in, but then it is Egon who runs back towards Ecto-1
When Winston opens the back of Ecto-1, he opens the door upward like an SUV. In fact, the door should be opened towards the passenger side.
Goofs- When the ghostbusters and Dr. Basingame get thrown out of the room, the doors to the room remains open. The ghostbusters then push Dr. Basingame through two closed doors.
Egon mentions that the ghosts can't leave the room. At the end of the show the last ghost leaves the room on Dr. Basingames' back.
Egon says there shouldn't be any trains running this late, but while they are on the train, they pass by several stops loaded with people.
Cthulu is normally depicted as winged, green and scaly, but when summoned in the show, he is depicted as orange with no wings. Also, his head is shaped differently than his normal depictions.
Goof - for a short period in the basement scene, Winston is speaking, but it's Egon's voice we hear.
In this episode the proton beams are blue while in the rest of the season they are orange/yellow.
In this episode all the Ghost-traps are completely yellow. In the other episodes the traps are a shade of blue or gray with yellow stripes only on the trap's doors.

Goof - Ray gets sucked into a hole. The ghostbusters then hear a noise in another room and run to investigate. When they run around the corner we see Ray running past along with Egon and Peter. We then see Winston, Egon and Peter enter a room where Ray gets thrown out of another hole.
In this episode, the Ghostbusters were forced to help a demon undo a deal he had made with a man who wanted all of the chickens in the world gone.
When the bad ghost who is haunting the mansion turns on the record player the song that plays is the instrumental dixieland version of "When the Saints go Marching in." The song also appeared in the earlier episode "Play Them Ragtime Boos" performed by ghost trumpet player Malacai.

Goof- Peter makes a wise crack about only reading the swimsuit issue. Egon then says "I always wanted to be on the cover." Then we see Peter speaking but we hear Ray's voice say "On the swimsuit issue?"
