    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Possum Lodge Word Game:

Prize: Some of Buster Hatfield's famous chili and a new seat of seat covers.
        Player: Dalton Humphries
        Word: Teenager

Note: Dalton does not win the game.

    • QUOTES (10)

      • Red: (on doing a project on something dangerous) Now I don't mean, dangerous to build. All my projects are that way. I'm talking about "dangerous to use"! That's what gets the juices flowing; the adrenaline, the testosterone, the hydrogen peroxide...

      • Red: (trying to get Dalton to say the Word Game word) Younger than 20, older than 12.
        Dalton: Shoplifter.

      • Red: (to Harold) You know what? Maybe a school bus will come into town, one of those ones all painted up with the flower powers and the peace signs, and catch on fire and melt.
        Harold: How would that help?
Red: That's how we got Reverend Frank.

      • Red: (talking about the fact Sunday services are over) We gotta do something about that, Harold! I can't let that go!
Harold: Well, what do you care? You never went to church anyway.
Red: Oh, no, no, it's not for me; it's for the other people. They got to be in church on Sunday with the fishers of men so I can be out on the lake with the fishers of trout.

      • Red: (wearing fishing gear) Today, I'm going to do something I really enjoy.
Harold: You going fishing, Uncle Red?
Red: No, Harold, I'm going to Ross Perot's house for a fondue party. Of course I'm going fishing. I'm going fishing for lake trout.

      • Kevin: (talking on his cell phone) Yeah, I think we should just take that right to bed and see how it creases the sheets.

      • Red: The community has been here a one hundred and fifty years. If there's land up here that hasn't been built on by now, there's usually a pretty good reason for that!

      • Red: You can't be bringing Boy Scouts to the lodge just because the Reverend got the flock out of here, Harold!

      • Red: (looking at Harold, who is wearing a Scout uniform) Why are you dressed like that, Harold? Are the Village People hiring roadies?

      • Harold: The church is closed. Reverend Frank just closed up the church and left town.
Red: Why? If he ran out of sinners, he could just come to the lodge.
