Red shows how to make a large batch of popcorn for when friends come over. He takes a pail of kernels and dumps the contents into a clothes dryer and puts a stick of butter in the lint filter. A short time later, Red opens the dryer after a finishing bell is heard and popcorn streams out into a waiting plastic bucket.
At the lodge, Red says it's time for the annual Possum Lake Sausage festival and says this year is the time Possum Lodge to win rather than Caribou Lodge. Dalton enters carrying a large amount of sausage casing that he got from a guy working at an experimental farm and mentions the winner gets his picture in the paper and a year's supply of bicarbonate soda.
Next, Red visits Kelly Cook, new programmer for the network that airs Red's show. Kelly suggests the lodge needs to be cleaned up or destroyed, the show needs to be a lot more politically correct, more safety awareness and a lot less duct tape that she finds " disgusting ". Red suggests she should watch the show that airs opposite his that seems geared to her age group and Kelly thinks that is an excellent idea.
For the Word Game segment, Red tries to get Mike to say the word ' Buy ' for the prize of a complete ice fishing kit (a saw).
On Handyman Corner, Red shows how to make your own snowmobile out of a hot water heater, water skis, a toboggan and a few artificial fireplace logs. Red punches a hole in the upper part of one end and attaches it to the toboggan with duct tape and the logs to the sides of the heater. Red puts on the water skis and sits at the front of the heater while he waits for the heater to build up in pressure. A short time later, and with a loud whistle, Red hurtles across the field with steam shooting out of the heater.
For his advice corner segment, Red talks about the different ways men and women shop. He says men are planners who want to look cool and avoid places where underwear and curtains are located whereas women are more open, receptive and willing to change her mind at the last minute.
Back at the lodge, Red says he can't understand why some people don't appreciate sausages though after that day's activities, he's starting to feel the same. Dalton enters and is upset that Red that left in the middle of the sausage making with the cook off set for that night. Red suggests transporting the extremely long sausage via couple of boat trailers to the contest.
Next, Red visits Dwight at his marina to complain about an outboard that he was sold that doesn't work. Dwight, who apparently hasn't moved even through a recent rainfall, agrees to try and repair the motor if Red carries it up to the shop for him. Red reluctantly agrees to do so though Dwight, still reclining in a lawn chair, says he can't give a definitive date for repair as it's the busy season at the marina.
For the black and white segment, Dalton is out with Mike, Red and Walter in his car when he pulls over in a hurry to put out a fire in his pants. Unfortunately, Dalton discovers that they are locked out of the car and the four try several different ways to open the car before they use the car's exhaust to literally blow the doors off from the inside.
Next, Red shows how to clean car wheels without bending over. After soaping up the wheels up, he gets a dog to start eating in front of one of the tires with the dog's tail acting as a sponge.
At the lodge, Red and Dalton, with Dalton looking burned and dazed, enter with Red saying the lodge lost the contest. Red says the pressure built up in the sausage and when Dalton poked a hole in it, the methane inside caught fire and the sausage shot up into the air like a missile and over the crowd. At the lodge meeting, Winston mentions the sausage evidently hit Caribou Lodge when it finally crashed to the ground.
