Forty minutes before Red Skelton was due to go on the air for this program at CBS-TV City, he ran into a door that was supposed to fall apart and suffered a concussion. The door failed "to yield during this rehearsal for the night's "live" network show. Johnny Carson was called in at the last minute to be the substitute host.
