The episode starts off with Stimpy brushing his chompers as Ren looks on. Stimpy tells Ren that he should brush his teeth but Ren refuses citing that he has never brushed his teeth in his life and they are in good condition. As fate would have it Ren developes a toothache that night and alerts Stimpy of his pain. Stimpy tells him that his pain is caused by nerve ending beavers who love nerve endings. Ren goes around the house and ends up offending flies who are eating poop in Stimpys box. Ren finally sits down for a meal provided by Stimpy who ends up giving him on of his teeth. The thing is that it is the size of Rens mouth. Non the less Ren is extatic that he now has a tooth.moreless

    • Ren: (after Stimpy has shown him his smile in the mirror) That's nothing. I'll show you a smile! (smiles in the mirror) (The mirror cracks)

    • (Ren's smell from his mouth makes it to flies on Stimpys litter box) Fly 1: Cripes, what is that smell? (the other flies react to the smell) Fly 2: I don't know man but it's ruining my meal! Fly 1: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, we're trying to eat here and you stand here airing out your stinky ol' gumhole. What are ya trying to do? Make us puke?

    • (Ren wakes Stimpy up) Ren: My tooth, it hurts! Why Stimpy, why? Stimpy: There, there now. I know it hurts. Ren: Why does it hurt? Stimpy: Did I ever tell you the story about the tooth beaver, Ren? Ren: Tell me a story. Stimpy: Well you see Ren, inside every mouth there are teeth. And wherever there's teeth you'll find a tooth beaver. And where you find the tooth beaver you'll find a nerve ending. (cut to a beaver chewing away at Ren's nerve ending) Stimpy: Now the nerve endings are the tastiest part of your body and your tooth beaver knows this. (cut to the beaver smashing Rens nerve ending with a mallet)

    • (Ren opens his mouth in front of a mirror and his tooth beaver is seen gnawing on his nerve endings. The beaver notices a strange and funky odor) Tooth Beaver: Phew! (he puts a clothes peg on his nose) Tooth Beaver: This place is too stinky, even for ME! Aw, MAN!

    • Ren: I told you before, brushing your teeth is for humans - kids stuff - crazy stuff!

    ADD NOTES
    • "Ren's Toothache" is the first episode on the 1993 VHS "The Ren and Stimpy Show: The Stinkiest Stories".

    • 'Ren's Toothache' is the first Spümcø episode without a single cut made.

    • After taking a wiff of Ren's gum holes, one of the flies comments, "Hey hey hey hey. We're trying to eat here!" That comment was actually made by an irate patron of the Hollywood restaurant Roscoe's House of Chicken 'n Waffles who was trying to eat his lunch while John K. acted out a future R&S story for his dining companion, former Spümcø layout and storyboard artist Chris Reccardi.

    • 'Ren's Toothache' was originally supposed to air along with 'Man's Best Friend', but Nick finally decided to shelve 'Man's Best Friend' and aired the pilot instead.
